Ava is a creative, open-minded psychologist who fosters an environment of safety, collaboration, and authenticity with each individual client. She recognises the courage it can take to seek psychological support, ensuring each client is treated with the compassion needed to safely explore their experience. She uses a warm, relational approach to support clients to develop insight needed to work towards meaningful change.
Prior to starting in private practice, Ava worked in public mental health services, gaining valuable experience in areas such as anxiety, depression, sexual health, substance use, trauma, adjustment difficulties, suicide prevention, LGBTQIA+ mental health care and personality vulnerabilities. Outside of her psychology career, Ava also works as a fitness professional, drawing on this experience to bring a holistic approach to her professional practice.
Ava works with adults across the lifespan who are experiencing a variety of mental health difficulties, incorporating elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing into her therapeutic approach.
